Equinox was chosen to create an augmented reality experience celebrating the KYMRIAH medication to treat leukemia by Novartis, and specifically the anniversary of its availability in Croatia. It is a personalized gene treatment for each person, and it’s a life saver for many. Having the pioneering quality of this great achievement in mind, with out partners in Novartis we’ve designed a cosmic scenario, focusing on the the experience of delivering the medication with a space rocket to the patients.

To do this, we have enlisted the help of one of Croatia’s premier 3D graphics designers, Igor Puškarić, to make the branded space rocket and the medical supplies container come to life in augmented reality.
We’ve added scenic touches to the experience which depict the scale and vastness of space to the viewers. Special consideration was given to the sound design, which was created in-house using some of the iconic sounds associated with the pioneering days of space travel: the launch sequence / countdown and the rocket sounds with astronaut reports is remixed from the original recording of the historic NASA Apollo 11 launch, and the latter “beep beep beep” sounds are the recording of the Sputnik sattelite, the first ever man-made sattelite. In this way we are combining the past and the present, and technology from all over the globe for the betterment of mankind.
This AR experience was created in record time, with pre-production time of around 5 workdays and another 10 for production. We are very grateful and proud that we been chosen to deliver this AR experience for Novartis.
The KYMRIAH experience can be viewed by installing the “Equinox XR” app for mobile phones (available for Android and iOS, links available here), and by choosing the “KYMRIAH” in-app layer when available, by clicking on the icon in the app toolbar.
